The brief was to celebrate the story behind the rings. A husband had three rings made for his wife, one for each of their children, each in the shape of a nest. She wears the three of them stacked. When each child is old enough, the ring becomes theirs.
The shoot builds that around three eggs, one for each child still at home. While the eggs are in the nest, the rings stay on her hand. As each child grows up and moves out, their ring goes with them, to the one it was made for.
The lighting is soft and diffused, with no hard shadows and a gentle falloff across the metal, so the rings and the eggs read as warm and real rather than lit for a catalogue. The styling is pared back around them: three rings, three eggs, nothing else asking for attention.
